Iona was born and raised in Costa Rica. She came to study for her undergraduate degree at UT Austin back in 2004 and fell in love with everything about Austin: the city, the people, and the BBQ!

Her background is in international recruiting for a diverse client base, which has helped her better understand the challenges of matching candidates' needs and expectations to those of companies. She loves how the Austin tech scene attracts talented and passionate individuals, and gets great satisfaction out of finding a perfect fit between job-seekers and startups. She is really excited to be part of the tech-hub in Austin, and has enjoyed talking to candidates about their career paths. She has also given a few advice on their vacations to Costa Rica.

Outside of work, you can find Iona at her jewelry studio, spending time with her husband & son, or Latin dancing.
